Quality And Affordable Healthcare: ODCHC Scales Up Efforts To Onboard Captains Of Industries, Business Owners.
The Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, ODCHC has intensified efforts to bring gladiators and captains of industries, their staffs, small and medium size business owners to affordable healthcare under the basic healthcare provision funds.
While briefing The Truereporter on Friday, Prof Odimayo said the efforts underscores active sensitization of the citizens across the state, creating awareness through different mediums and strategically driving the people's minds to the importance of subscribing to the scheme as a means of making quality and affordable healthcare available to all.
As a means of ensuring proximity, more health facilities are being on boarded to render treatment at no cost thereby checking the fear of out of pocket spending which is believed to have hitherto restricted many from seeking holistic healthcare when the need arises.

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Professor Ebun Aderonke Adejuyigbe, has officially assumed duty. Her resumption marks a significant chapter in the history of the institution as she becomes one of the few female heads of a specialised medical university in Nigeria.
To begin her tenure on a collaborative and progressive note, Professor Adejuyigbe on Thursday 24th July, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to UNIMED's researcher and Special Adviser on Health to the Governor of Ondo State, Professor Simidele Odimayo.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor expressed her appreciation to the State Government for the opportunity to serve, pledging to foster a harmonious working relationship with all relevant stakeholders in the education and health sectors. She emphasized her commitment to academic excellence, institutional growth, and public health development in the state. She avowed that she would carry every stakeholder along and that she belongs to everybody and everyone belongs to her for the good of Ondo State.

The pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Ondo state chapter has taken agitation to another level, approached the Ondo State Government through the office of the Special Adviser on health, seeks implementation of major concerns.
The society during the week garnered major stakeholders, captains of industries in the field and some notable citizens of the state to press home the demands of the arm of the health sector. In his statement, the chairman of the society in Ondo, Pharmacist BOT said the whole is comfortable with achievements recorded thus far in the health sector by the Governor and cannot shy away from acknowledging it.
In plea corroborated by pharmacist Kehinde Fasoranti, Pharm BOT said the society believes in the passion of Gov. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to transform the state's health sector as well as listen to the yearnings of pharmacists, reposition the practice for better drugs and poisons management across Ondo state.
