The Special Adviser on health to Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the executive Governor Ondo State Governor, Prof Simidele Odimayo has met with National Health Fellows, sets them in motion in an effort to take the health sector to an enviable height within the shortest period, charging them on upholding global health practices as they commenced community services engagement across the state.
This statement was contained in Prof Simidele Odimayo's charge during a special session with the NHF in Akure while conveying the message of the Executive Governor on ensuring accurate dissemination of information to the people as the government continues to make effort to eliminate maternal and new born death across the state in line with the plans of the Federal government of Nigeria and global health organizations.
The National Health Fellows, NHF whose primary goal is to empower young professionals to drive positive change and innovation within the nation's healthcare sector, support and contribute to the government's efforts to increase access to affordable and quality healthcare for all Nigerians, has found Ondo State worthy to be supported owing to the continuous efforts of the Governor to revamp the healthcare delivery in the state.
Prof Simidele Odimayo during the session reiterated the determination of Gov Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to revamp the healthcare delivery of the state, repositioning it for optimal performances and efficiency, transcending to nooks and crannies of Ondo state for the benefit of citizens.
"Governor Aiyedatiwa is determined to revamp the state healthcare, revitalize our facilities, targeting quality and affordable health systems where everyone can boast of at all times."
He recounted the spirited efforts of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in boosting the sector saying we must encourage him to do more by putting in our ultimate best. "The Governor's investment in the health sector is huge, enormous, demands the cooperation of every stakeholder, and ensure we do our best for the system to succeed, thereby encouraging the Governor to do more."
He therefore charged NHF on the appropriate usage of all the knowledge acquired during the MAMII workshop for the development of our dear sunshine state and benefit of the citizens noting that the Governor is keen at actualizing the OUR EASE agenda.
It will be recalled that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reeled out his OUR EASE agenda for the next one year upon sworn-in in February which includes quality and affordable healthcare for all residents of Ondo state, and has been working assiduously to actualize it. In one of his recent statements, the Governor cleared air that the "OUR EASE" agenda is not just a slogan but mantra borne out of real determination to the zeal to impact positively on the health of people.
This zeal to impact has attracted many fortunate to the state healthcare sector, opening routes for private partnership, and supports as he continues to call out for more assistance from corporate bodies nationally and internationally.
