On World Hypertension Day: Prof Odimayo Urges Ondo Residents To Prioritize Healthy Habits,Regular Exercise
The Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governor, Prof Michael Simidele Odimayo has urged the residents of the state to prioritize healthy lifestyles, regular exercise and eating good on world hypertension day.
In a statement made available to newsmen through the head of his media, Evang. Ben Ikuejamofo, Prof Odimayo, extended his warmest greetings and appreciation to all who are working tirelessly to combat hypertension, a recognized silent killer disease.
"Describing the importance of the day, the professor of microbial pathology said World Hypertension Day is observed annually on May 17th. It is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about hypertension (high blood pressure) and promoting actions to prevent and control it".
Prof Odimayo noted that hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, strokes and kidney diseases saying Ondo state government under the able leadership of His Excellency Gov Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles, improving access to healthcare and enhancing awareness about hypertension prevention and management.
He therefore urged all residents of Ondo State to prioritize their health by adopting healthy habits, such as regular exercise, balanced diets, stress management and regular blood pressure checks. "Know your numbers, understand blood pressure readings and monitor them regularly."
"Together, we can reduce the burden of hypertension and promote a healthier Ondo state."
