Nothing Must Happen To Adelokiki, Others; Ikale Group Warns.
The leadership of Ikale United Front has frowned at the continued detention of Comrade Orimisan Adelokiki and two other women incarcerated in connection with the land dispute between Ikale land owners and the Okitipupa Oil Palm Company (OOPC) Limited. The group rising from an emergency meeting in Akure on Thursday, 1st of May, 2025 condemned the method of the the MD of OOPC accusing him of using the police apparatus to shush dissent voices in spite of litigations and judgement pronounced at different levels on the said case.
The coordinator of the sociocultural group, comrade Jan Oladipupo asserted after the meeting that the case is no longer ordinary. According to him: "Mr. Taiwo Adewole cannot assume that we are fools because he has the resources to pocket a segment. The sleeping lions will awake and what they are doing to Adelokiki and the two other women will be revisited."
The group lamented the unjust detention of Mrs Rachel Akinunrun since Thursday 24th April 2025 in lieu of her husband. Since then, series of arrests had taken place. Comrade Jan Oladipupo fumed: "These are insults to Ikale land. While we are not delving into the nitty-gritty of the case in question, arresting people based on suspicion and denying them of bail showcase use of arbitrary powers. We will resist this. Adelokiki and others didn't kill or rape anyone but merely voiced our their opinions about what they think is their heirloom. Nothing evil must happen to them"
