The Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has flagged off another round of medical outreach for aged and vulnerable people as part of efforts to ensure good health for all, in Owena, Ifedore local government.
Gov. Aiyedatiwa who was ably represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Prof Simidele Odimayo said this Odatiwa free rural medical outreach initiative targets those in the remote areas in Ifedore, Akure South and North local government area of ondo state
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who is very keen at ensuring no one is left out of the torch of his healthcare plans, has deemed it necessary to carry out another free medical care for vulnerable people in the target areas while working towards eradicating inability to access holistic health services.
Rising from the event, Prof Odimayo reaffirmed the availability of more than enough drugs in all the healthcare facilities across the state, stressing the need to go to the nearest government hospital whenever the need arises saying the days of No-drugs in hospitals are over.
"A few days ago, we inspected the DMA warehouse to ascertain their proactiveness in supplying drugs to hospitals amidst efforts to ensure 'OUR EASE' mandate, and obviously, we saw that Mr Governor has really strengthened the agency to be able to meet up with drugs supply; again, we are charging every resident of the state, to ensure the use of the government owned hospitals whenever the need arises."
Accordingly, the Special Adviser on Health to the Governor emphasized the need to key into the state health scheme. Succinctly underscoring the importance of the scheme, he said, majorly, what distance people from hospitals when they are sick is the fear of the cost involved, which this administration has put into consideration, warranted the launch of the contributory health scheme for those in the informal sector.
"This is essentially to encourage our people, bringing healthcare service delivery to almost free, while ensuring good livelihood for all without recourse to status."
Earlier, the Special Adviser on women affairs to the state Governor, Dr Seun Osamaye, appreciated the Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his relentless commitment, undying love and unflinching support for women, and children, prioritizing their health and wellness in line with OUR EASE agenda, noting the importance of women in a nation's development.
Addressing his community at the venue of the event, the Olowena of owode Owena, Oba Kola Tifase extolled the Governor for keeping to his promise of good health for all. He lauded the free Medicare initiative. "We are indeed elated as a community to be considered for this free healthcare initiative, it shows that we are not forgotten after massively voted for our able Governor in the last election."
Corroborated by Hon Dare Boboye in his thank you message to Gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the traditional ruler vowed further support to the Governor from the good people of the community.
