Exclusive: Ikale United Front Hails Gov Aiyedatiwa's Achievement In The Health Sector.
The foremost ethno-cultural group in Ondo state, Ikale United Front has hailed the commitment and achievements of Gov Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in the health sector in particular.
In a statement made available to newsmen through the publicity secretary, Comr Jeffrey Oladapo, rising from an emergency meeting on Thursday in Akure, 1st of May, 2025, Ikale United Front commended the pace of progress in the health sector describing it as deliberate efforts to making access to health affordable and easy.
"We commended the pace at which the governor is making progress in the health sector, rejuvenating the age-long deteriorated health facilities in the state, face-lifting 102 health centers in the, as well as repositioned the teaching hospital Akure for federal university of technology teaching hospital, FUTATH."
"We are aware of the recent efforts of Mr Governor in ensuring a drastic change to the decayed structures and outdated facilities in the Okitipupa specialist hospital. The uplift of the eye clinic, and installation of solar power inverter testify to the fact that the Governor mean business in ensuring the well-being of the good people of Ikale, Ilaje and other ethnic group from that axis."
"The most beautiful aspect of this Health Insurance House is that it was facilitated by an outstanding Ikale son and member of the group, Dr. Jide Ayenimelo, the erstwhile CMD of the Specialist Hospital. Through the support of Prof Odimayo and political will of Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, this great man constructed the Insurance House from an uncompleted building to an edifice (ceilings, floor/floor tiles, doors, kitchen, toilet, paintings, electrification wit an installation of 3.5 KVA electrification)".
It will be recalled that Ikale United Front, under the national guard of Comr Jan Oladipupo, had raised several alarms, publicly lamented the level of decadence in the state owned specialist hospital, Okitipupa, the only SSH serving the entire Ondo South, but to no avail. "Today, we are elated to catch the news of government efforts to revitalize the place by installing some modern medical equipments, among other things saying this is the first time government is giving the hospital a consideration in several decades."
"we want to thank the Governor for the recently launched Orange Health insurance house (ORANGHIS), a comprehensive programme designed to provide affordable healthcare access to informal sector workers, including artisans, traders, farmers, and commercial drivers. We are more than guaranteed that people from Ikale/Ilaje/Apoi/Ijaw and other dwellers of our land will immensely benefit from this scheme, driving inability to use hospitals away from our land."
Additionally, the group hailed the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of comprehensive health centres in about 102 health centers in the state as made public by the Special Adviser on Health to the Governor, Prof Simidele Odimayo.
