The Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has distributed the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Health Kits accrue to Ondo State to Nurses and Midwives across all health facilities.

The 10,000 health kits which was shared equally among the six (6) states in the South West region, made the Ondo state Governor through his Special Adviser, Prof Simidele Odimayo shared the 1,666 kits accrue for Ondo state among nurses and midwives to enhance healthcare delivery across.


Declaring the distribution of the Ondo States portion open at the Primary Health Care Development Agency, Akure, he said the health kits is specifically meant to be shared equally among six (6) States in the South West Nigeria. Hence, demanded being here to distribute the 1,666 that belongs to our state to our nurses and midwives, to encourage them as they continue to provide quality healthcare services that our government sworn an oath to, to the citizens of the state.


While lauding the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) health program of the office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Governor expressed optimism in improved healthcare personnel's performance, as these kits, will no doubt, encourage our people on the field of health across the state, particularly, the primary health centers and the general hospitals being the closest to the grassroots.


He was firm in charging the representatives of each facility at ensuring even distribution of the scrubs and Crocs among health workers in those facilities. He said after dividing the 10,000 by six (6) states in the South West, each state got a total of 1,666 (That is 1,666 each for Ogun state, Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Ekiti and Ondo State in like quantity).


Delivering the items to the representatives of the facilities, the Governor warned against hoarding, saying his interest is to be seeing our nurses And midwives appear in the new dresses across our hospitals. 


He lauded the doggedness, resilience, commitment and dedication of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen Oluremi Tinubu in ensuring healthcare delivery is enhanced for optimal performances and efficiency, transcending to all levels: geopolitical zones, states and of course, primary healthcare centers.


"Your excellency, your vision, which have warranted embarking on this magnificent project is topnotch and commendable, and you can be rest assured that our people will make the best use of it."


It will be recalled that the office of the First Lady of the Republic of Nigeria, Sen Oluremi Tinubu had on Thursday 17th April, 2025 flagged off the distribution of  10,000 (ten thousand) health kits, a program of the RHI, to Nurses and Midwives across the entire South West at the international culture and event center, the Dome, Igbatoro Road, Akure, Ondo State.
